Fluxus Digital Collection

The University of Iowa Libraries houses an impressive collection of Fluxus art and ephemera, including drawings, paintings, sculptures, and writings by internationally acclaimed artists Ken Friedman, John Cage, Dick Higgins, George Maciunas, Yoko Ono, Mieko Shiomi, Nam June Paik, George Brecht, Robert Filliou, and many others.

The materials found here are drawn primarily from the Fluxus West Collection, which is housed in the University of Iowa’s Special Collections. Ken Friedman generously donated these materials in 1980.

Role: Project Managed and coordinated Library and Provost initiative to support the creation of an online archive of Fluxus West Special Collection materials. Created and implemented 3D scanning workflow, and integrated metadata creation into the classroom to enhance descriptive data about the Fluxus objects.
